About Chromatrap®

The potential of the patented filter used in Chromatrap® was first noticed by academics at Essex University and later developed in collaboration with Swansea University’s Medical School. Starting with a kit simply designed for PCR analysis, the partnership inspired the development of a diverse product range offering a faster, easier and more sensitive method of chromatin immunoprecipitation.

Unlike bead-based kits suppliers such as Active Motif, Diagenode, Cell Signalling Technology, Abcam, Zymo Research and Epigentik, Chromatrap is a novel filter-based system that overcomes the challenges often encountered through the use of beads, (especially for first-time users). All Chromatrap® products are manufactured at the Porvair Sciences biosciences facilities in North Wales and now sold globally.

Our dedicated technical team continues to improve and innovate the technology and its protocols to ensure that researchers get the results they want, allowing them to focus on the bigger questions in epigenetics research.
